Unfortunately, the answers aren't alway easy to determine. Many times the trouble isn't with your computer at all but with your ISP.
Here are a couple of common things to look for:
1) Make sure your configuration information is accurate. This is the information that is provided by your ISP.
2) Do you still get the internet? If it is a connection issue you won't receive your email either.
3) Has anything changed on your computer recently? Have you installed new software such as a firewall or antivirus software. Many times these will block receipt of email.
